This year, VAFF 2021 FESTIVAL, screening programs will be organized into various Series in order to better highlight the diverse content in our festival. These Series include Spotlight Series, Documentary Features Series, Narrative Features Series, Canadian Shorts Series, International Short Series, VAFF Industry Insight Panel Series and Special Events.

PRICING AND TICKETING:

VAFF IN THEATER SCREENINGS:

ALL IN THEATRE ACCESS E-PASS: $100 per pass* includes all of the In Theatre Screening Nov. 4 – 7, 2021 and ScreenX screening Nov. 14, 2021.
FEATURE FILM SPOTLIGHT PROGRAMS: $15 per film/program*
SHORTS PROGRAMS: $10 per film/program*
STUDENT RATE (MUST Present School ID) & SENIOR RATE (applicable to All Screening): $8
How To Watch VAFF-IN-THEATRE

*VAFF MEMBERSHIP: $2 fee

MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENT: As many of the films have not been previously classed by Consumer Protection BC, under BC law, only members of the Vancouver Asian Film Festival Society (VAFF) can attend the Film Festival and members must be 18 years or older. The membership is non-transferable and the fee must be paid before admittance to any program. Please show the electronic membership with you at all times during the festival. To obtain an VAFF Membership for $2, purchase your membership online with your tickets or complete a VAFF membership form at the VAFF Membership table in the front lobby of the Cineplex Odeon International Village Cinemas between November 4 – 7 or you can purchase in advance here. Once you have paid your $2 membership fee, you will be provided a membership card that will be valid until May 31, 2022.

An In Theatre pass-holder (including membership), you will be required to show your electronic festival pass at every screening you attend. If you cannot produce a valid festival pass, we’re afraid we must ask you to purchase another one at that time. To ensure seating at any screening, including Opening, Spotlight, Centrepiece and Spotlight screening, please arrive at the theatre 30 minutes prior to the screening you’re attending. Any unclaimed reserved Passholder seats in the theatre will be released to the Box Office/Rush Line 15 minutes prior to the screening.

How To Watch

ALL VAFF ON DEMAND rentals are available to watch for the entire duration of the festival (Nov 8 – Nov 13, 2021) after purchase. However, once you press play to start watching a film, you have 24 hours to finish watching. Only accessible by viewers anywhere in CANADA.

Bonus Features: Some VAFF On Demand Features Programs will include pre-recorded filmmakers talk.

If you purchased your ticket(s) or pass(es) before 6:00 pm on November 13, 2021 and the last chance to start any film will be until 11pm on November 13, 2021. You could still enjoy it in 24 hours once you press play.
