Join us for the 22nd Annual Vancouver Asian Film Festival Opening Night Spotlight Screening + Gala. You don’t want to miss our Opening Night screening of DEAD PIGS, a Comedy Drama from director Cathy Yan, followed by Opening Night Gala at D6 Bar & Lounge – Parq Vancouver.
To Celebrate our 22nd year, put on your “playful cocktail” attire and join our Opening Night Gala for a memorable, sophisticated evening of complimentary hors-d’oeuvres and a special cocktail.
Feature Film Synopsis:
Canadian Premiere of winning film of 2018 Sundance Special Jury Prize by the first Asian woman to direct a DC Comics franchise movie, Cathy Yan. A bumbling pig farmer, a feisty salon owner, a sensitive busboy, an ambitious expat architect and a disenchanted rich girl converge and collide as thousands of dead pigs float down the river towards a rapidly modernizing Shanghai, China.
