Description

It’s the year 2038. Smog smothers the sky, making solar power increasingly difficult to harness. In an effort to decrease pollution, a global initiative has been passed that restrictis fuel-burning transportation by rationing travel miles to all the world’s citizens. Javier, who has burned away his past, works as an electrician in a corporate office. He is striving towards saving up enough travel miles to fly back to the Spanish Canary Islands for a chance to finally reconcile with his estranged daughter. At the cusp of his goal, a catastrophic hurricane hits the Canary Islands, and Javier discovers that his daughter is injured. A doctor urges him to come as soon as possible; Javier must now risk sabotaging his friendships and breaking the law to obtain more miles. Ultimately, he makes an agonizing choice to save his daughter’s life, and for the first time, discovers what it means to sacrifice for love.
