Srikandi

Srikandi is a modern retelling of an Indonesian myth. After the death of her father, 17 year-old Anjani is torn between the past and future. Her mother wants to sell the house/studio to make ends-meet. But Anjani wants to continue her father’s legacy as a shadow puppeteer, despite the fact that women are not allowed. Through the art of shadow puppetry also known as “Wayang”, Anjani has a final moment with her father, and decides what her path must be.
