2018 VAFF Awards
2018 Best Canadian Short Award
Sponsored by (TBA), the VAFF Best Canadian Short Award (BCSA) is presented annually to a qualifying Canadian independent short film/filmmaker in the current year’s festival. Now in its ninth year, an average of 3–6 films per year are eligible for the BCSA nomination. The annual winner is determined by a three-member film industry adjudication panel. The award will be presented in an awards ceremony after the Closing Night screening.

2018 Best Canadian Feature Award
Sponsored by the Directors Guild of Canada, the VAFF Best Canadian Feature Award (BCFA) is presented annually to a qualifying Canadian independent feature film/filmmaker in the current year’s festival. Now in its inaugural year, three Canadian feature films are eligible for the BCFA nomination. The annual winner is determined by a three-member film industry adjudication panel. The award will be presented in an awards ceremony after the Closing Night screening.

What is the People’s Choice Award ?
Sponsored by London Drugs, The London Drugs People’s Choice Awards will be presenting during the Closing Night Screening and Awards Ceremony November 4, 2018. You will be the judge to select the Overall Feature, Overall Short, Overall Performance. The voting will be open from Nov 1 – Nov 4, 2018 during the festival.
