Media Accreditation

 

Media Accreditation Application Form for VAFF 20. Please submit your Media Pass Request by October 15, 2016.

VAFF welcomes accredited media to attend and cover the festival. VAFF grants limited complimentary accreditation, in the form of a Media Pass to journalists from established broadcast, print or online media.

Assigned passes are not transferable, and are valid for:

  • All Festival screenings

  • The VAFF Industry AIM Summit (includes VAFF  panels and Filmmakers’ Luncheon/Best Canadian Short Award / Best Canadian Feature Award, National Bank People’s Choice Award presentation)

Due to limited space and high demand, we only offer media credentials to journalists who are providing strategic or substantial coverage before and during the Festival. Interested journalists must submit their interest and details of coverage, to be considered.

A confirmation of your Media Pass will be emailed to you the week prior to the festival start date.

Media Passes will be available for pick up from 6 pm November 3, 2016 at the VAFF 20 Box Office area in the lobby of the Cineplex Odeon International Village, 88 West Pender St, Vancouver, during the following dates/times:

  • Thu, Nov 5 | 6:00pm – 8:00pm
  • Fri, Nov 6 | 12:00pm – 10:00pm
  • Sat, Nov 7 | 12:00pm – 10:00pm
  • Sun, Nov 8 | 1:30pm – 7:00pm

VAFF reserves the right to request links, clippings and/or proof of broadcast before, during and following the festival.

Working Media Pass

A limited number of assigned Working Media Passes are available. This pass allows the crew to cover celebrity and VIP arrivals at the special event venue, and to cover receptions, galas, luncheons and after-parties.

(Please note this working pass does not admit the pass holder to any film screenings, luncheons, receptions, galas or after-parties.)

Assigning editors or producers should email media@festival.vaff.org with WORKING MEDIA PASS in the subject line to request a separate Working Media Pass.

A confirmation of your Media Pass will be emailed to you the week prior to the festival start date.

Reception, Gala, and Party Invitations for Media

Media attendance at all VAFF Receptions, Galas, Luncheons, and After-Parties is by invitation only.

Due to space limitations, we are not able to invite all accredited media to these special events. Special event invitations are issued at the discretion of the VAFF media office and the Special Events committee. A limited number of special event tickets are available for public purchase.

In addition to media releases, we send email updates to media before and during the festival. If you wish to receive these emails, please make sure we have your current email address.
