Description
(Drama Feature, Short) What are the ties that bind—and how far would you go to break them? Vancouver-based Rob Leickner’s films all share a firmly West Coast perspective (Rob’s film The Tree Inside won the VAFF “Audience Choice” Award in 2015), making them instantly recognizable and relatable to anyone on the Left Coast. The Lonely Light of Home follows a family who run a B&B fishing lodge in coastal British Columbia; when an alluring stranger arrives at the door, they are thrust into new emotional territory. A psychological study of the family’s inner workings, the film explores the choices of individual members as they grapple with unrequited love and betrayal. A VAFF Best Canadian Feature Award nominee.
Preceded by the short film A Trip With Mom by Pei Yu Su, which extrapolates just how far a mother-daughter relationship can go—in more ways than one.
Admission to VAFF screenings is limited to those over 18 years of age holding a valid VAFF membership card.
